Biography

Professor Myung is a world-leading researcher in field-deployable (bio)chemical sensor systems, applying nanotechnology and materials science and engineering to create novel, low cost (bio)analytical devices. With funding from both federal sources and private industry, his group has been working on the development of high-performance gas sensing materials for over a decade. Using these high-performance sensing materials, his team has created several low-cost smart diagnostic systems, including wearable and affordable personal safety sensors (e.g., wristwatch, keychain, and pendant) for various applications including residual solvent detectors, livestock health monitoring systems, and smart farming systems.
